Six publishers to make journal articles available via DeepDyve’s online rental service -

DeepDyve, a research engine for the Deep Web, has announced that six major publishers have agreed to make their articles available via the company’s online rental service for research articles. These publishers will add important journals in the areas of information technology, social sciences and the humanities to DeepDyve’s collection of life sciences and medical publications.

Under the terms of their agreements, the publishers will add hundreds of thousands of articles spanning more than 700 journals to DeepDyve’s rental service. DeepDyve users can rent individual articles for $0.99, or subscribe to one of the company’s monthly plans that provide access to multiple articles for an extended period.

The new publishers joining DeepDyve’s rental service include Association for Computing Machinery, American Institute of Physics, Emerald Group Publishing Limited, MIT Press, Radiological Society of North America and University of California Press. The full catalogue of publisher titles is expected to be available via DeepDyve beginning in February 2010.
