ResearchGate and SLACK Journals have announced a new partnership to expand the global visibility and engagement of SLACK’s hybrid scholarly journals through the Journal Home platform. The collaboration will make nearly 60,000 articles, primarily in ophthalmology and nursing, immediately accessible to ResearchGate’s 25 million researcher members.
This initiative is expected to enhance discoverability and increase article readership by integrating full-text access directly into ResearchGate profiles and researcher feeds. Journals under the partnership will benefit from dedicated journal pages, network-driven visibility, and seamless access that connects readers with journal content throughout the research workflow.
Key benefits of the Journal Home partnership include:
• Greater engagement with authors across the research cycle, encouraging high-quality submissions and publications in the journals
• Immediate full-text access via ResearchGate, increasing visibility through network feeds and notifications
• Clear presentation of journal offerings to both current readers and prospective authors
• Stronger brand visibility via dedicated Journal Profiles and branded article pages
• Automated article association with author profiles, boosting engagement and tracking of readership and citations
Authors will also gain greater insights into how their work is read and cited, while publishers receive tools to engage potential contributors.
According to SLACK’s Senior Vice President, Tony Schiavo, the collaboration is expected to improve outreach and support SLACK’s efforts to reach wider author and subscriber audiences.
Founded in 2008, ResearchGate supports open and collaborative research dissemination. With this partnership, SLACK Journals joins a growing list of publishers leveraging Journal Home to strengthen their presence within the global scholarly publishing ecosystem.
