SPIE and Japan Society of Applied Physics renew agreement -

SPIE, an international society for optics and photonics, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) have renewed an agreement to collaborate in technical conferences, publications, and other information exchange. The two societies' presidents recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Osaka.

The MOU recognises the strong interest in mutual cooperation between JSAP and SPIE to serve members of the international optical science and engineering community. Among those present at the signing were Optical Society of Japan President and past SPIE Board member Mitsuo Takeda, SPIE Board member Toyohiko Yatagai, and other leaders from the OSJ.

SPIE serves more than 180,000 constituents from 168 countries. The Society advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent and career and professional growth. SPIE annually organises and sponsors about 25 major technical forums, exhibitions and education programmes in North America, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific.
