Springer acquires Asia Europe Journal from Asia-Europe Foundation -

STM publisher Springer has acquired the Asia Europe Journal from the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). The ASEF has transferred the copyright of the journal to Springer. The Foundation will no longer be associated with the journal.

Re-launched with new editors-in-chief and refocusing on its core topics, the journal will further promote discussion on the challenges and opportunities of a common future of Asia and Europe. The new editors-in-chief are Dr. Yeo Lay Hwee, Director of the European Union Centre in Singapore and Senior Research Fellow at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, and Dr. Werner Pascha, Chair of East Asian Economic Studies at the Institute of East Asian Studies at Duisburg-Essen University in Germany.

The Asia Europe Journal: Studies on Common Policy Challenges was launched in 2003 by ASEF in co-operation with Springer as one of the foundation's flagship projects. It was accepted for the Social Sciences Citation Index in 2010.

The quarterly journal publishes academically and intellectually rigorous research papers as well as topical policy briefs and thought pieces. Topics include issues of bi-regional interest, including management and political economy, innovation, security studies, regional and global governance, as well as socio-cultural developments and historical events.
