STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced a collaboration with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to publish AMBIO, A Journal of the Human Environment. The first issue at Springer will be published in February 2010. Dr. Elisabeth Kessler of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences serves as Editor-in-chief of the journal. She will be supported by a distinguished international editorial board and a team of competent associate editors.
AMBIO addresses the scientific, social, economic and cultural factors that influence the conditions of the human environment. It publishes recent work in the interrelated fields of ecology, environmental economics, environmental management, technology and natural sciences. Widely recognised as an important international forum for debate, AMBIO publishes papers that are geared not only to specialists, but also to students, politicians, professional planners and interested laypersons.
Published eight times a year, AMBIO is indexed in more than 40 international databases. At Springer, it will be available in print and electronically on www.springerlink.com. The journal will feature Online First, Cross Reference Linking, and Alert services. In addition, all authors, via the Springer Open Choice programme, have the option of publishing their articles using the open access publishing model.
