Springer in deal with Japan Human Cell Society to publish ‘Human Cell’ -

STM publisher Springer has announced that it has been chosen by the Japan Human Cell Society to publish the latter’s official English-language journal, Human Cell, in electronic format. The first online issue will be published at Springer in early 2011. The journal was previously published by Wiley-Blackwell. Dr. Isamu Ishiwata, Director of Ishiwata Obstetric & Gynecologic Hospital in Japan, is the editor-in-chief of the journal.

A quarterly publication, Human Cell serves as a forum for international research on all aspects of human cell biology and related disciplines, publishing original research articles of studies using ES/iPS cells or tissue stem cells derived from human or other species. In addition to showcasing the research activities of the Society, Human Cell also publishes papers in the categories: Cell Line, Rapid Communications, Reviews and Letters to the Editor. The expanded Cell Line section deals with research on the establishment of cell lines, which will serve as a foundation for clinical hot topics such as regenerative medicine and oncologic research.

Springer will publish the e-journal Human Cell starting with Volume 24, Issue 1. The journal will make use of a manuscript tracking system that speeds publication of important articles in the field. The journal will be available via SpringerLink, Springer’s online information platform. Cross Reference Linking and Table of Contents Alert services will be fully implemented for the journal. Springer will digitise the back volumes of Human Cell to 2002, making them available to readers through the Springer Online Archives Collection.
