STM publisher Springer has announced an agreement with the Population Association of America to publish the latter's official journal Demography, as of 2011. In the 2009 ISI ranking, this journal is first in the Demography Listing with an impact factor of 2.391. The journal will join Springer's expanding portfolio of population studies.
A quarterly publication, Demography includes articles of interest to population scientists from various disciplines, including the social sciences, geography, history, biology, statistics, business, epidemiology and public health. The journal includes articles reporting on original research, including theoretical developments, improvements in models or methods, policy evaluations, applications of demographic principles or techniques, assessments of demographic data, and comparative and historical studies.
Fast publication in Online First will provide immediate access to new research results in Demography on Springer's online information platform, www.springerlink.com. Editorial Manager (an online author submission and peer review system), Cross Reference Linking, and Alert services will be fully implemented for the journal. In addition, Springer will digitise the back volumes of the journal, making them available to readers through the Springer Online Archives Collection.
