Springer Nature acquires medical communications service provider Medidact -

Springer Nature has announced the acquisition by its Springer Healthcare business of Medidact, part of Van Zuiden Communications - a medical communications agency targeting the Dutch healthcare market. Both companies reached an agreement on April 24, 2018. The acquisition fits perfectly into the strategy of Springer Healthcare Benelux to continue to grow as a provider of scientific communications and services.

Springer Healthcare acquires all Medidact activities. As a result of this acquisition, a small number of employees from Van Zuiden Communications will join Springer Healthcare. The Medidact brand will continue to operate under its own name.

Medidact provides professional and congress information for the medical healthcare professional through a portfolio of magazines, websites, videos, e-mail and apps. It focuses mainly on the fields of oncology, hematology, rheumatology, neurology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology and lung diseases. The acquisition enables Springer Nature to continue to expand its successful specialist science communications portfolio.

Springer Healthcare has been active as a service provider for the healthcare sector for many years and has been operating in 22 countries with about 500 employees for 40 years. Together with partners, Springer Healthcare reaches the medical target group with content, conference reports, continuing education, videos and customised communications solutions.
