Publisher Springer Nature has signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) on strategic cooperation with Shanghai Jiaotong University, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Beijing Union Medical College and Tsinghua University School of Medicine in Shanghai and Beijing this week. The signing of these MOUs is intended to assist the three universities in strengthening international cooperation and academic exchange, enhancing their capabilities in scientific research, and attracting international talent so that they can develop world-class majors and become the world-class universities.
In accordance with the MOUs, Springer Nature will hold Nature Conferences with the three universities to facilitate their communication and academic exchange with the international research community and increase the influence of their dominant disciplines globally. Springer Nature will cooperate with these universities in co-publishing journals and books to foster the dissemination of scientific research. The organisation will also provide Nature Masterclasses and other training courses to enable the universities' teachers and researchers to better develop the skills needed to write research papers that can transform their scientific research into academic papers that can be published in high-impact journals.
Springer Nature and its subsidiaries had collaborated with the three universities previously in journal and book publishing, research training, academic conferences, database subscriptions and in some other fields. The signing of the MOUs will deepen mutual collaboration, set up an overall framework for further cooperation and provide a package of tailored services to accurately respond to the needs of the universities in fulfilling their strategic goals for university and discipline development.
