STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced that it is set to publish Fisheries Science, the official journal of the Japanese Society of Fisheries Science, starting January 2009. Dr. Toshio Takeuchi of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology will serve as editor-in-chief.
The journal, previously published by Wiley-Blackwell, publishes basic and applied research articles in a broad range of subject areas relevant to fisheries science. Published in English six times a year, Fisheries Science includes original and review articles covering a wide array of topics in both marine and freshwater research. All articles are peer reviewed by at least two experts in the field of the submitted paper. The journal has a rich history of publishing quality papers in fisheries, biology, aquaculture, environment, chemistry, biochemistry and food science and technology.
Fisheries Science will be available both in print and on Springer's online platform SpringerLink. Features of the online edition include fast publication with the Online First service.
