Springer signs publishing deal with Society for Mycotoxin Research -

STM publisher Springer, Germany, has signed an agreement with the Society for Mycotoxin Research to publish the Society's official journal Mycotoxin Research. Dr. Ewald Usleber of the Institute of Veterinary Food Science at the University of Giessen, Germany, will serve as the editor-in-chief of the journal the first Springer issue of which will appear in March 2009. Dr Usleber will be supported by an international editorial board.

Aimed at academics and professionals working in the food-producing industry, the journal deals with all topics related to mycotoxins, the harmful compounds produced by molds. Original research papers and review articles in Mycotoxin Research address all aspects of toxinogenic molds found in virtually every environment worldwide - as contaminants in foods and feeds, in mold-infested buildings and in living organisms infected by pathogenic fungi. The interdisciplinary nature of the journal will appeal to researchers, scientists and university instructors in microbiology, food science, veterinary medicine, allergology and public health.

In addition to the printed version, the complete contents of the journal will be published on Springer's online platform SpringerLink, greatly improving accessibility for subscribers. Furthermore, 11 years of backfiles of Mycotoxin Research (1997-2008) will be made available online by Springer. The publication schedule will continue in 2009 with four printed issues per volume, and with Springer's Online First feature, accepted manuscripts will be published online well ahead of the print version.
