StayWell Engage is designed to engage consumers with vast customised content, health assessment tools and digital health coaching programmes that together seek to create a personal health improvement experience for consumers. The launch comes less than a year after StayWell announced an alliance with online health management firm HealthMedia, Inc.
The new health management platform is projected to deliver a win-win for health payers and their populations - providing healthier lifestyles for consumers and proven outcomes that result in lower costs for health plans and employers. It was recently selected by a major Blues plan looking to provide its member population with an advanced online health management portal.
StayWell Engage allows every member to receive a collection of online health content, with access to thousands of health and wellness articles, interactive quizzes and calculators, breaking news, plus comprehensive encyclopedias of diseases and conditions, surgeries and procedures. Multimedia formats such as podcasts, animations and video are seen to bring topics to life and enable users to receive information when and where they want.
According to the company, a highly sophisticated technical platform takes this content and weaves it tightly together with the online intervention programmes powered by HealthMedia. The result is highly personalised instruction designed to motivate users.
The process starts with a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) that gathers information about the member which can be used to shape custom-tailored, digital health coaching programmes. These include programmes designed to address nutrition, weight management, chronic illness, depression, insomnia, binge eating, stress management, diabetes, back care, smoking cessation, physical activity and chronic pain.
In addition to helping keep consumers healthy, StayWell Engage seeks to offer significant benefits for the organisation's bottom line. Clients can learn if and how the intervention is changing consumer health behaviour, gather valuable data to help contain costs and measure impact and leverage the portal to meet the varying needs of employer groups and niche populations.
