The Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) and STN International, the leading platform for searching research and patent information, have signed a Global Value Pricing agreement providing PRV examiners unlimited access to the high-quality patent, non-patent and substance content unique to STN. Key databases available through STN include authoritative chemistry content from CAS, patent content from FIZ Karlsruhe and Thomson Reuters as well as a wide variety of patent and non-patent resources from prestigious providers that cover the broad spectrum of science and technology. Approximately 95 percent of the world's patent applications are reviewed by patent offices that use STN.
The Global Value Pricing agreement also provides PRV access to the new web-based STN search platform that offers a project-oriented workflow and intuitive interface designed to align with the needs of patent examiners and IP professionals. New STN leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver enhanced search power and advanced tools to support searching the growing global volume of published information.
Global Value Pricing standardly includes the complete collection of high-quality STN content and all interfaces and features under a single flat-fee contract, rather than requiring customers to select and pay for individual content entitlements. This provides enhanced budget predictability and simplifies administration.
The choice made by PRV to provide unlimited STN access to their examiners, allowing them freedom to fully utilise its high-quality content and tools to optimise their work, reflects their strong commitment to quality. PRV is one of the few intellectual property offices globally to achieve ISO 9001 quality certification of its entire operation demonstrating this outstanding commitment.
