Taylor & Francis and Salesforce.com come together to develop global course adoption database -

Publisher Taylor & Francis Group (T&F), LLC, US, and Salesforce.com have joined forces to develop and implement a global course adoption database called Course Adoption System (CAS). Slated for launch in the beginning of 2009, CAS will enable T&F to better penetrate the global textbook market and target new customers by streamlining and enhancing processes and tracking results.

Until now, T&F sales, marketing, and editorial teams have been challenged by the lack of a course adoption database. Marketing activities have been less than optimally targeted and dependent upon the quality of rented mailing lists. CAS will overcome these challenges and provide benefits that include reduced spend on rented mailing lists, coordinated data collection efforts between sales and marketing, and improved analytics.

With higher education markets changing and becoming increasingly electronic and web-based, it is important that any new database system integrate and work easily with the T&F eCommerce system. CAS seeks to meet that challenge. Further, using out-of-the-box Salesforce.com functionality customised to T&F specifications, CAS will allow T&F to take advantage of recent innovations in customer relation management technology and advanced solutions such as Google Adwords, Ideas, Visualforce and Mobile Edition.
