Academic publisher Taylor & Francis has announced new partnerships with the Australian Science Media Centre (AusSMC) and the Media Centre for Education Research Australia (MCERA).
The media centres offer independent, non-profit services for the news media which encourage quality research-based reporting. They offer expert advice and commentary which improves the accuracy of media reports and public understanding of academic research. The sponsorship from Taylor and Francis supports this important and influential work.
Taylor & Francis will work with the media centres to ensure that Australian and New Zealand research published in Taylor & Francis journals is accurately and responsibly communicated to the press to enable good quality news coverage which informs public debate.
Taylor & Francis is hosting a webinar on 'Engaging with the media: reaching beyond academia', with the panel including Lyndal Byford of the AusSMC. The webinar takes place on October 12 at 9.30 BST. A recording will be made available afterwards.
