The American University of Beirut joins ProQuest Dissertations and Theses publishing program -

The American University of Beirut, an esteemed teaching-centered research university in Lebanon and the Middle East, has signed an agreement to contribute its graduate works to the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses™ (PQDT) database, the leading database of dissertations and theses from the world's greatest universities. It is the first university in Lebanon to contribute to the database, expanding the breadth of international content in PQDT.

As a participant in ProQuest's dissertations and theses publishing program, the American University of Beirut will contribute its dissertations and theses, with publications dating from 1908 to present, into PQDT. With many available in full text, they will be accessible by millions of scholars and researchers through the ProQuest® platform, the Summon® and Primo® discovery services, Google Scholar, and more than 35 major subject indexes such as IET Inspec, Ei Compendex, PubMed, PsycINFO, ERIC, SciFinder and many others.

With 4.7 million dissertations and theses – 2.3 million in full text – PQDT is used by more than 3,000 universities around the world.

The American University of Beirut's teaching and research principles are based on the American liberal arts model of higher education - including freedom of thought and expression, creativity, critical thinking, personal integrity, civic responsibility and leadership. The university has more than 8,000 students and 800 faculty members.
