The Company of Biologists has appointed Knowledge E as its sole regional agent in the Middle East, expanding representation for its publishing programs and subscription initiatives across the region.
Under the agreement, Knowledge E will represent The Company of Biologists in Middle Eastern markets, drawing on experience working with government bodies, academic institutions, and research organizations. The partnership is intended to increase regional visibility and expand subscriptions, including participation in the publisher’s Read & Publish initiative.
The collaboration will focus on supporting institutions and researchers across countries such as Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. By combining Knowledge E’s regional expertise with The Company of Biologists’ publishing model, the agreement aims to support broader access to scientific research and Open Access publishing options.
The Read & Publish initiative enables corresponding authors at participating institutions to publish an uncapped number of Open Access research articles in the publisher’s transformative and fully Open Access journals without paying article processing charges. Over 1,000 institutions in 56 countries currently participate in the program, including those affiliated with library consortia.
The Company of Biologists is a not-for-profit publisher with a long-standing commitment to Open Access and transformative publishing models. Its journal portfolio includes Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms, and Biology Open. The organization is marking its 100-year anniversary in 2025 through a series of community-focused activities.
