The Company of Biologists has joined Get Full Text Research (GetFTR), expanding the network of publishers working to connect research discovery directly to trusted full text. The partnership is intended to make the publisher’s content more easily discoverable and accessible across a range of research and discovery tools, including Scopus, Scite, Web of Science, CAS Biofinder, and the GetFTR Browser Extension.
GetFTR indicators signal access to the version of record—whether through subscription, open access, or free content—helping reduce barriers and streamline the research process.
The Company of Biologists is a not‑for‑profit publisher run by practicing scientists. It publishes peer‑reviewed journals, organizes scientific meetings, provides travel grants for early‑career researchers, and supports research societies.
Kirsty McCormack, Technical Operations Director at The Company of Biologists, explained that joining GetFTR aligns with the organization’s mission to serve the scientific community. She noted that the partnership would make it easier for researchers to discover and access biological literature, thereby supporting efficient research practices and ensuring content reaches the scientists who depend on it.
Dianne Benham, Product Director at GetFTR, stated that the organization welcomed The Company of Biologists as a partner. She emphasized that the publisher’s commitment to serving the research community aligns with GetFTR’s mission to connect discovery directly to trusted full text. She added that as adoption grows, both publishers and researchers benefit from increased reach, stronger engagement, and more efficient pathways to content.
The Company of Biologists hosts its journal content on the Silverchair Platform and joins other publishing partners that have adopted GetFTR since Silverchair integrated with the service in 2021.
