The 2021 CiteScores by Scopus show significant increases for several journals. The highest growth of 1.7 goes to Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena. Its 2021 CiteScore is 5.7, and it sits firmly in Q1 of the Applied Mathematics and the Modeling and Simulation categories. In 2020, MMNP was the first maths journal in the world to transition to a Subscribe-to-Open (S2O) open-access model.
Astronomy & Astrophysics is another title that has done particularly well and is up by 1.6. Its 2021 CiteScore is 9.9 (Q1) and further success following its transition to S2O in 2022. Yet another S2O journal to perform well is RAIRO - Operations Research which also increased by 1.6.
Other top performing journals are all open access, namely: Journal of Space Weather and Space Climate (+0.9 to 5.8); Parasite (+0.5 to 4.5); OCL - Oilseeds and fats, Crops and Lipids (+0.5 to 3.4) SICOT-J (+1.2 to 2.9); and Aquatic Living Resources (+0.5 to 2.8).
Incidentally, Acta Acustica and Hydroécologie Appliquée have been awarded their first CiteScores.
