The National Academy of the Sciences (NAS) recently joined The Independent Scholarly Publishers Group (ISPG) by adding its journal, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, to the ISPG collection.
Established by an Act of Congress and signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, at the height of the Civil War, The National Academy of Sciences is a private, non-profit society of distinguished scholars whose members are active researchers and contributors to the international scientific community. Now, as a part of the new agreement, libraries in the Middle East and North Africa will have access to the authoritative content found in the NAS premier international journal, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The journal is one of the world's most-cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals, publishing more than 3,500 research papers annually. Established in 1914, PNAS publishes cutting-edge research, science news, commentaries, reviews, perspectives, colloquium papers, and actions of the US National Academy of Sciences. PNAS is published daily online and in weekly issues.
