The Wyanoke Group, parent company of Ocular Surgery News publisher SLACK Incorporated, has acquired 'Cataract Surgery: Telling It Like It Is', from Dr. Robert Osher, the meeting's founder and Program Director.
Dr. Osher announced the agreement from the podium Friday during a meeting in Amelia Island, Florida. The agreement is effective with the 2019 meeting. Osher will remain Program Director, while Ocular Surgery News Chief Medical Editor Dr. Richard L. Lindstrom, will join the meeting Program Committee. The meeting will remain in Florida but will not overlap with the Hawaiian Eye meeting. The 2019 final dates and location will be announced shortly.
Osher created the meeting in 2010 and has seen it grow in attendance, support and reputation since then. The meeting gets its title from Osher's penchant for delivering excellent and direct clinical education to attendees on surgical technique and technology, therapeutics and medical practice in a no holds barred manner. This year's meeting attracted more than 550 ophthalmologists and 100 exhibiting companies.
The Wyanoke Group includes SLACK Incorporated, Vindico Medical Education, Association and Meeting Solutions (AMS) and SLACK Events. SLACK Events will be the meeting organiser and provide content services. AMS will provide the meeting and exhibit management services for the meeting. Ocular Surgery News will serve as the official media partner. 'Cataract Surgery: Telling It Like It Is' joins Hawaiian Eye, Retina 2019, Kiawah Eye, OSN Italy and OSN New York in ophthalmic meetings offered by Wyanoke Group companies.
