Thieme Medical Publishers acquires Journal of Knee Surgery from Slack -

Scientific and medical publisher Thieme Medical Publishers, Inc., US, acquired the Journal of Knee Surgery from healthcare information provider SLACK Inc, in late 2009. The first Thieme issue will be published in March 2010. Dr. Bernard Bach will continue as Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

A quarterly publication, the Journal of Knee Surgery covers a range of issues relating to the orthopaedic techniques of arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and reconstructive surgery of the knee joint. In addition to original peer-review articles, the journal provides details on emerging surgical techniques, as well as case reports, reviews, and special focus sections. Published in full-colour, the Journal of Knee Surgery is projected as an indispensable source for all knee surgeons, orthopaedists and sports medicine specialists.

The transaction was brokered by Decker*Farrell, a firm dedicated to facilitating mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in STM Publishing.
