Indian Journal of Neurosurgery, the official journal of the Neurological Surgeon's Society of India (NSSI), is a peer-reviewed online journal that is published three times a year (in April, August, and December) with print issues available to society members. This journal is Open Access and authors can self-archive the final version of articles on any OA-compliant institutional/subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing, or publication of manuscripts or for colour reproduction of photographs. This unique neurosurgery journal covers technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical, and social issues related to neurosurgery. The full text of the journal is available at http://open.thieme.com.
Neurological Surgeon's Society of India (NSSI) was founded in 2011 and within a short time had gained more than 500 life members. This society is emerging as the sole forum for academic neurosurgeons in the country. The committee resolved to start a scientific journal of the society and named it Indian Journal of Neurosurgery (IJN). The journal addresses recent advances and controversies in neurosurgery with original articles, case reports, and other opinion articles.
