Thomson Reuters collaborates with Russia’s scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.RU -

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a collaboration with Russia's scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.RU. The collaboration will bring the nation's research to the forefront of the global scholarly research landscape with the inclusion of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), within the Web of Science™, the premier global search and discovery platform for natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Known for its strength in natural sciences, the addition of RSCI to the Web of Science will significantly improve the visibility of vital Russian scientific research by providing the international scholarly community with easy and direct access to its premier journals. The index will include more than 600 Russian scientific journals by 2016 and will serve as a resource for elevating the publications to international standards.

The rigorous process of selecting Russian scientific journals was based on an analysis of the journal's bibliometric indicators calculated in RSCI, the results of a journal's expert group evaluation in key areas, and a public examination of journals by leading Russian scientists. In total, 12,800 questionnaires, 240,000 evaluations of journals, and 2,800 expert commentaries contributed to the selection process.
