Thomson Reuters partners with Blue Sky Broadcast to offer complete conference solution -

Information services provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced a partnership with Blue Sky Broadcast to provide a complete, end-to-end solution for organisations seeking to schedule and broadcast their meetings and conferences. The partnership will enable scholarly societies and associations to review and select the best meeting content using Thomson Reuters ScholarOne Abstracts, then automatically transfer it to a presentation portal hosted by Blue Sky Broadcast for live capture and hosting.

ScholarOne Abstracts claims to be the foremost solution for managing conference abstract data, allowing for quick and easy collection, as well as reviewing and scheduling, of the best content for meetings. Blue Sky Broadcast specialises in the delivery of live and on-demand web-based presentations, continuing education certifications, and media solutions.

As travel budgets for scholarly societies and associations face cuts, while research output continues to expand globally, it has become increasingly important for organisations to find cost-effective ways to offer their members access to meetings and conferences. The new offering from Thomson Reuters and Blue Sky Broadcast, will deliver searchable multi-media content from meetings and conferences in a rich media format, long after the actual date of the event. The agreement also opens up a new potential source of revenue for societies and associations, by allowing them to extend the reach and life of their meeting content.
