Healthcare solutions provider Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that the Tomball Regional Medical Center has selected the Clinical Xpert suite of products - Clinical Xpert Navigator and Clinical Xpert CareFocus - as part of its continuing effort to improve clinical performance and patient safety. These tools enable automated identification of high-risk patients within a hospital and give clinicians access to comprehensive patient information at any time via the Internet, smartphones and other mobile devices.
The medical center will use Clinical Xpert Navigator to deliver real-time patient data to physicians via their BlackBerry smartphones, Palm and Windows Mobile-based mobile devices, and desktop computers. This ensures doctors have access to critical patient information at any time and from any location, improving efficiency and clinical decision-making. The Clinical Xpert CareFocus will allow clinicians to build clinical profiles that identify high-risk patients from the entire hospital census based on their medications, laboratory results, vital signs, diagnoses, observations, active orders, and demographics.
Tomball will combine clinical solutions from Thomson Reuters to develop a closed-loop quality improvement process. The medical center also uses CareDiscovery, a benchmarking solution from Thomson Reuters, to analyse clinical performance and make comparisons with peer-group and national benchmarks.
