Trials accepted for indexing in MEDLINE -

Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced that the journal Trials has been accepted for indexing in MEDLINE following a review by the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee. MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database.

Trials was launched in 2006 as an evolution of the journal Current Controlled Trials in Cardiovascular Medicine. The journal considers manuscripts on any aspect of the design, performance and findings of randomised controlled trials in any health care discipline, and encourages complete reporting of trial results, regardless of the outcome or significance of the findings.

Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) is the US National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database that contains over 16 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. Majority of journals are selected for MEDLINE based on the recommendation of the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee, an NIH-chartered advisory committee of external experts analogous to the committees that review NIH grant applications.
