UGC Infonet Digital Library Consortium selects Thomson Reuters' Web of Science for education and research needs -

The UGC Infonet Digital Library Consortium, funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India, has selected Web of Science from Thomson Reuters to meet the education and research needs of its members. Fifty universities in India that are represented by the UGC Infonet Digital Library Consortium will benefit from this access including the University of Delhi, University of Hyderabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Bangalore University.

The agreement is part of the project titled N-List, a joint project of INDEST AICTE Consortium (Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences & Technology) and UGC Infonet Digital Library Consortium. The latter provides its member institutions with current and archival access as well as differential access to subscribed e-resources. The programme is implemented by the INFLIBNET Information and Library Network Centre, Ahmedabad, which is involved in creating infrastructure for the sharing of library and information resources and services among academic and research institutions.

Students, researchers and faculty members across India will now benefit from easy access to Web of Science, a leading citation database with multidisciplinary coverage of over 11,000 influential journals and 110,000 conference proceedings spanning the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities. They will also benefit from Web of Science backfiles that provide comprehensive, worldwide coverage in the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities with fully indexed, searchable and linkable data to enable deeper, more complete research.
