Unbound Medicine has announced the introduction of Assist™ to its uCentral™ medical platform. Developed using Unbound Intelligence™, which integrates human expertise with artificial intelligence, the Assist tool provides customizable digital support for both clinicians and medical librarians. The feature is designed to facilitate the retrieval of clinical information and the synthesis of medical literature to aid in clinical decision-making and research.
The integration addresses ongoing challenges faced by healthcare professionals in maintaining current knowledge and applying it effectively in clinical and research contexts. Medical librarians, who play a key role in supporting these efforts, often operate under resource constraints that limit their capacity to meet complex information demands. Assist is intended to supplement this collaborative dynamic by offering AI-driven tools that accelerate information discovery and enhance support for evidence-based care and research activities.
Assist enables clinicians to independently perform literature searches at the point of care while allowing librarians to offer targeted expertise for more advanced research needs. The tool is integrated with Prime PubMed, Unbound Medicine’s version of PubMed, which is used by over 200,000 users globally. This shared platform is intended to support coordinated efforts among clinicians, researchers, and librarians in improving patient outcomes.
The addition of Assist aims to expand the capabilities of Prime PubMed by facilitating literature analysis, synthesis, and summarization. Medical librarians, clinicians, and researchers are encouraged to provide feedback and participate in early access programs to guide the development of future features.
