Open access publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) has announced that Veterinary Sciences has been accepted for inclusion in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) in the Web of Science Core Collection. Veterinary Sciences is due to receive its 2020 journal metrics in the June 2021 release of the Journal Citation ReportsTM (Clarivate Analytics).
Veterinary Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access journal publishing research in veterinary sciences, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder and injury in animals. Articles submitted that involve subjecting animals to unnecessary pain or suffering will not be accepted, and all articles must be submitted with the necessary ethical approval.
The journal continues to be covered in Scopus, where its CiteScore ranks 35 out of 178 journals and thus among the top 25% most highly cited journals within the "General Veterinary" category. Veterinary Sciences performs rapid and thorough peer review. A first decision is provided to authors within 18.4 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.9 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the first half of 2020).
