Wiley-Blackwell acquires Topley & Wilson's Microbiology and Microbial Infections -

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, US, has announced the acquisition of Topley & Wilson's Microbiology and Microbial Infections (T&W) from Hodder-Arnold. T&W is projected as a major reference work of world prominence now in its tenth edition. With eight volumes covering the fields of Virology, Bacteriology, Medical Mycology, Parasitology, and Immunology, the title will take a prominent place in the Wiley-Blackwell catalogue.

T&W has long been an essential addition to the bookshelves of medical microbiologists, immunologists, infectious disease specialists and public health professionals, as well as being a standard reference for specialists within the pharmaceutical industry. Since its first publication in 1929, T&W has grown from one to eight volumes. The 10th edition continues the T&W tradition of providing the most comprehensive available reference on microorganisms and related infectious diseases.

Wiley-Blackwell has a strong collection of products within its life sciences portfolio. This includes 241 journals, a publishing programme of 115 books for this business year and the recently launched Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews (WIREs) publications.
