Wiley-Blackwell and JISC Collections announce new three year agreement -

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, and JISC Collections have announced a new three year NESLi2 agreement for the higher education and further education communities in the UK. This agreement offers libraries access to more than 1,500 journals on Wiley Online Library on mutually beneficial terms that take into account the financial challenges facing the library community at this time.

Customers have flexibility and choice; they can choose to license the full collection or a subset – whichever best meets the needs of their researchers and students – and are able to balance their selections with their budget constraints each year.

The agreement also reflects Wiley's recognition of cost per use as an important measure of value. By improving discoverability and increasing usage of its high quality content, Wiley is committed to providing better value for customers and reducing the average cost per download across the consortium over the term of the license.

JISC Collections was established by the UK Higher and Further Education funding councils, to support the procurement of digital content for education and research in the UK. It undertakes negotiations with a large number of scholarly and research publishers on behalf of UK universities and colleges in the area of e-journals, e-books, databases and datasets achieving best pricing and licensing conditions for its members.
