Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has announced a partnership with the Society of Actuaries to publish six publications in the field of actuarial science, beginning in 2012.
The publications are designed to prepare for the Construction and Evaluation of Actuarial Models (C/4) actuarial examination. They will be the Society of Actuaries' first books in print and electronic formats for the C/4 exam, sitting alongside Wiley-Blackwell's leading book programmes in mathematics, statistics, economics, and actuarial science.
The six publications will consist of three print books and three online products. The three online products will include several innovative functionalities, including randomised problem sets, multiple plugged-in spreadsheets, a customised search engine/index, and hyperlinked text. This will be Wiley-Blackwell's second collaboration with the Society of Actuaries, adding to an existing partnership to publish the book Introductory Stochastic Analysis for Finance and Insurance, which was released in March of 2006.
