Wiley has joined the Genesis Mission Consortium, a public‑private partnership supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Genesis Mission. The consortium includes organizations such as Nvidia, AWS, Microsoft, IBM, and AMD. Wiley is the only scientific publisher among the members and presented its work at the Genesis Mission Annual Summit in Washington, D.C.
The Genesis Mission is a DOE initiative to build the American Science and Security Platform, an AI‑driven infrastructure designed to accelerate scientific discovery and address pressing science and technology challenges. Wiley’s participation builds on decades of collaboration with the DOE and other federal science agencies.
As a consortium member, Wiley plans to make its research intelligence tools available to researchers at DOE national laboratories and provide leadership and industry partners with early insights into potential applications. Its contribution draws on editorial networks, domain expertise, and evidence‑linked scientific content that supports provenance and reproducibility, alongside operational support for integration into laboratory environments.
Wiley leadership noted that the Genesis Mission offers an opportunity to apply early work in AI and data analytics to a program of national importance. Executives emphasized that responsible AI must be grounded in trusted, peer‑reviewed content and expert‑validated workflows.
Company representatives also stated that membership reflects Wiley’s belief that trusted scientific knowledge should underpin responsible AI infrastructure. The organization is contributing expertise, standards, and frameworks to guide how science and AI intersect in the public interest.
Wiley’s AI & Data Analytics team will participate in working groups focused on validating AI models against scientific evidence and managing scientific data. The company will also help shape the consortium’s foundational knowledge layer, drawing on widely cited and licensed content already integrated into scientific AI applications worldwide.
