Wiley launches AI Partnerships Program to accelerate innovation in scientific research -

Global publishing leader Wiley unveiled an initiative at the Frankfurt Book Fair—Wiley AI Partnerships: A Co-Innovation Program. This new program seeks to develop advanced AI-driven applications and tools in collaboration with innovative companies, aiming to empower researchers and practitioners by enhancing the speed, efficiency, and precision of scientific discoveries.

A recent Wiley survey revealed that 69% of researchers are eager to keep up with, or surpass, AI adoption trends in their fields, but many feel the need for better tools and guidance on responsible AI usage. The Wiley AI Partnerships program is designed to address these needs, providing researchers with cutting-edge solutions to streamline their workflows while maintaining high-quality standards in scientific research.

The program will combine Wiley’s extensive catalog of peer-reviewed scientific content, academic partnerships, and global market presence with the AI expertise of partner companies. The first collaboration in this initiative is with Potato, an AI-powered research assistant that leverages peer-reviewed literature to deliver high-quality scientific research protocols. Together, Wiley and Potato aim to improve the reproducibility and application of scientific discoveries.

Wiley is also inviting additional partners to join the program, with a focus on fields such as life sciences, health, engineering, chemistry, and food science. Potential AI tools under this initiative may include research assistants for experimentation, information extraction applications, decision support systems, and science communication tools.

The program adheres to Wiley's AI Principles, ensuring that all AI advancements are developed in an ethical, trustworthy manner. By fostering these partnerships, Wiley aims to shape the future of AI in research, driving innovation and empowering the global scientific community.
