Wiley-VCH journals make an Impact -

Wiley-VCH, the German subsidiary of John Wiley & Sons, US, has announced that more than 65 percent of its journals have shown a year on year increase in their Impact Factor or Immediacy Index. A number of new journals have also received excellent first ratings in the recently released Thomson Reuters 2007 Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

For the second year in a row, Angewandte Chemie, the flagship journal of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) achieved an Impact Factor above 10. With 10.031 Angewandte further strengthens its position as the number one chemistry journal for original research and reviews. In its 50th anniversary year Biometrical Journal sees its Impact Factor increase by 76 percent. The journal is rapidly climbing up the ranks in the categories it is listed in. Laser Physics Letters increased its Impact Factor by 57 percent and moved to rank 8 in the Instruments & Instrumentation category. Small, the interdisciplinary journal on nanotechnology, showed further growth on its first Impact Factor attained last year. The journal is now listed under the top 10 journals in five ISI categories.

New journals with a very first Impact Factor or Immediacy Index include Fuel Cells; ChemMedChem; Chemistry- An Asian Journal; and Macromolecular Reaction Engineering.
