Wolters Kluwer Health has expanded its long-standing publishing agreement with the American Heart Association (AHA) to include the open access journal Stroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology, bringing the total number of AHA titles it publishes to twelve.
The medical and scholarly publishing industry is placing greater emphasis on trusted, peer-reviewed evidence amid increasing information volume, alongside a shift toward open access publishing, broader global distribution of research, and closer collaboration between publishers and scholarly societies to support more sustainable dissemination models. Thus, the agreement spans both subscription and open access journals in cardiovascular and brain health and is intended to broaden access to peer-reviewed research for clinicians, researchers, and policymakers.
The expansion increases the distribution of AHA journals across both subscription and open access formats. The American Heart Association titles published by Wolters Kluwer will be included in the Lippincott portfolio of medical and scientific journals. The portfolio comprises nearly 400 indexed titles and is positioned to offer broad visibility and established credibility for healthcare researchers and practitioners globally.
