Wolters Kluwer Health has announced a strategic collaboration with the Black Nurse Collaborative (BNC) to enhance diversity awareness and remove barriers within the nursing profession. This partnership will focus on a range of initiatives, including events, publications, and nursing resources, all aimed at promoting a more inclusive and equitable healthcare environment.
Wolters Kluwer Health has long been committed to ensuring that its resources reflect broader representation. By partnering with the BNC, the company seeks to create immediate and meaningful impacts in the nursing field. This collaboration will ensure the realistic and diverse representation of all people in Wolters Kluwer Health's resources.
For several years, Wolters Kluwer Health’s nursing group has benefited from the insights of a dedicated editorial advisory board. This board includes nursing instructors, students, neurodiversity experts, DE&I-focused editors, and the American Nurses Association’s Scholar-in-Residence Addressing Racism in Nursing. The partnership with the BNC will enhance these efforts, bringing additional subject matter experts to contribute to diverse authorship, peer review processes, advisory board roles, and event speaking opportunities.
The Black Nurse Collaborative will support Wolters Kluwer initiatives by providing training and mentorship to individuals across the nursing industry. This support will help nurses seize key career-building opportunities such as submitting journal articles, speaking at professional events, and effective networking.
Founded to promote professional growth, entrepreneurship, health equity, and the elevation of the nursing community, the BNC addresses the unique obstacles faced by Black nurses. It offers tangible support to help its members advance and excel in their careers.
This new collaboration underscores Wolters Kluwer Health’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) in healthcare. By leveraging the expertise and network of the BNC, Wolters Kluwer aims to foster an environment where all nurses can thrive, regardless of their background.
As this partnership unfolds, Wolters Kluwer and the BNC will continue to develop initiatives that support and advocate for under-represented groups in nursing. Their combined efforts are expected to create lasting changes that benefit the entire healthcare community.
