Wolters Kluwer Health has completed the acquisition of Emmi Solutions for a total net consideration of $170 million (€158 million) in cash following termination of the waiting period under the U.S. Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. The agreement to acquire Emmi was originally announced on October 4, 2016.
Emmi delivers interactive patient engagement solutions by combining an intimate understanding of people with expertise in behavioural and educational science. Emmi's integrated, web-based programs and automated call campaigns, expertly designed through a rigorous development process and a human-centered approach, provide a scalable way for healthcare organisations to engage individuals to be participants and partners in their care, while improving operational and financial performance.
In a separate announcement, the Health Division of Wolters Kluwer announced that its Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) medical and nursing journal portfolio won four awards and earned Honorable Mention nominations in 12 categories at the 2016 FOLIO: Eddie & Ozzie Awards. Sponsored by FOLIO: Magazine, the Eddie and Ozzie Awards represent one of the industry's largest, most prestigious award competitions for magazine and digital editorial and design excellence.
The LWW Journal winners were culled from among approximately 1,000 finalists, which were initially narrowed down from more than 2,800 entries.
