Wolters Kluwer Health and Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses collaborate on Lippincott decision-support solutions -

Wolters Kluwer Health, a global provider of information and point-of-care solutions for the healthcare industry, has announced a collaboration with the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) to review the core medical-surgical procedures in the Lippincott Procedures software application, one of the leading online procedure solutions for use by nurses and other clinicians at the bedside. The procedures are being reviewed and modified by a select team of medical-surgical experts from the association's membership of more than 10,000 nurses.

The collaboration calls for AMSN to review more than 300 medical-surgical nursing procedures. In the process, both new and existing procedures will be added and/or modified to ensure that they meet the AMSN current, evidence-based standards of exemplary quality-of-care.

Lippincott Procedures is one of the most widely deployed, web-based nursing applications for evidence-based practice information used in hospitals and other healthcare institutions. It gives clinicians accurate, step-by-step guidance for more than 1,400 evidence-based procedures. Video clips and high-quality visuals that aid in understanding accompany most of the procedures. Skills checklists and competency tests for each procedure are provided to help facilities verify staff competence. Each procedure undergoes a thorough annual review process to ensure it includes the most up-to-date clinical information.

Lippincott Procedures, part of the Lippincott Nursing Solutions product suite, is available as a group subscription to hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The product is accessible from any Internet-enabled device including PCs and mobile devices including iPad and Android tablets as well as an iPad app.
