Wolters Kluwer Health and Amirsys expand partnership to add two additional clinical anatomy and pathology image databases -

Information services provider Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced that it has expanded its partnership with Amirsys Inc. to offer two new clinical reference databases, the Amirsys Pathology Reference Center and the Amirsys Anatomy Reference Center, via the OvidSP medical research platform. The Amirsys Imaging Reference Center was released on OvidSP in March 2013.

The Amirsys Anatomy Reference Center is designed for students, residents, and clinicians in a hospital or other clinical setting, and features gross anatomy and imaging anatomy perspectives along with thousands of high-quality images: anatomical illustrations, cadaver photos, and histology images representing 15,000 structures, spaces, locations and disease states. Normal imaging anatomy includes CT and MRI scans, plain film, and ultrasound for all body regions.

The Amirsys Pathology Reference Center is an important visual diagnostic tool for pathologists, non-pathologists and general practitioners in hospitals, medical schools and other clinical settings. It contains nearly 36,000 high-quality gross pathologic images, including H & E, IHC stains, correlative images, and coloured graphics - plus over 2,100 clinical diagnosis topics, including summary tables, lists of immunohistochemistry, staining patterns, and feature comparisons for different diagnoses.

In addition to the three Amirsys clinical reference databases on OvidSP, there are nearly 60 Amirsys ebooks, including the award-winning Osborn's Brain: Imaging, Pathology, and Anatomy, and several book collections.
