Wolters Kluwer Health has announced the integration of the Sonicu continuous environmental monitoring platform into its Simplifi 797 USP compounding compliance solution. This collaboration aims to streamline workflows and enhance safety in pharmacy cleanrooms by automating the environmental monitoring required to comply with the United States Pharmacopeia’s (USP) updated compounding guidelines.
Under the USP Chapter 797 compounding guidelines, pharmacies must now document daily ambient temperature, humidity, and air pressure differential measurements in compounding areas. Meeting these requirements has traditionally been time-consuming, as staff must manually capture and document environmental conditions—time that could otherwise be spent on other critical tasks in the pharmacy or clinical setting.
The integration of Sonicu with Simplifi 797 addresses these challenges by automating the documentation process. With real-time capture of temperature, humidity, and air pressure data, pharmacies can improve the accuracy and efficiency of their daily records. This automation not only saves valuable time but also reduces the risk of errors, ensuring pharmacies stay in compliance with USP guidelines and avoid potential regulatory issues.
Simplifi 797 automatically logs historical data captured by Sonicu sensors, providing pharmacies with an accessible and accurate record for USP inspections or accreditation surveys. Additionally, the platform’s remote monitoring capabilities enable pharmacy teams to receive alerts and take corrective actions, ensuring environmental conditions are consistently maintained in accordance with USP standards. This proactive approach empowers pharmacy teams to safeguard their medication assets around the clock while maintaining compliance.
With this integration, Wolters Kluwer Health continues to enhance its Simplifi 797 solution, offering pharmacies a more efficient and reliable way to meet regulatory requirements and support safer compounding practices.
