Scientific and technical publisher Woodhead Publishing Limited, UK, and Asia Information Services (AIS), a Hong Kong-based distributor of books and e-content, have announced an exclusive 3 year e-deal. Under the deal, AIS will distribute WP's online platform, Woodhead Publishing Online (WPO), in the Chinese mainland market.
Woodhead's books on Materials Science, Engineering, Textile Technology, Energy, Environmental Technology and Food Science and Technology have always held a strong market position in China, where they are renowned for their high quality and for covering the latest topics in these fields. A recently acquired list of books on biomedicine will also be available.
Woodhead Publishing Online was launched in October 2010 at the Frankfurt Book Fair and is hosted on the MetaPress site. It has since become recognised by universities, research institutions and corporations worldwide as a significant resource of high quality content on new science and technology in the fields in which WP specialises.
