McGraw Hill acquires TeachFX to strengthen AI‑driven instructional coaching -

McGraw Hill has announced the acquisition of TeachFX, an AI‑native instructional coaching platform designed to support educators and enhance classroom practice. The acquisition expands McGraw Hill’s professional learning capabilities and provides schools and districts with new tools to strengthen curriculum implementation and improve classroom outcomes.

TeachFX uses classroom audio recordings to generate insights into instructional practices. By applying proprietary AI and diarization technology, the platform analyzes teacher‑student interactions and produces feedback tied to techniques such as questioning strategies and encouraging student explanations. This process offers teachers and instructional coaches actionable insights without adding to their workload.

Independent studies have reported that educators using TeachFX saw improvements in student performance in math, English language arts, and science, along with higher morale and self‑efficacy among teachers. The platform also integrates with Claude for Teachers, enabling classroom feedback to be converted into lesson plans for those with access to both tools.

The acquisition follows McGraw Hill’s recent acquisition of Teachally, an AI‑powered platform that helps educators adapt and customize curriculum. Together, Teachally and TeachFX extend McGraw Hill’s support across two critical areas of teaching and learning: developing high‑quality instructional materials and helping educators implement them effectively in classrooms.
